I have used 12", 14", and 16" all american barrels. I prefer the 14" because it is just as accurate as anything longer, it is quieter than anything shorter, and it seems to be easily manuverable for woods play.

the shortest barrel is the best in my opinion. Long barrels arent anymore accurate and they just get damaged more.StEEl Grey SoNiC Cocker. The ownage Machine

Speaking of short barrels, does anyone know if you can order the 8 inch crown points? I want one..Comment

Why do you want a crown point anyway? Listen to that voice in your head telling you to get a Lapco...MM19223 -=Minimag=-

I you want short and cheap, get a TASO eliminator. It is a nickle plated aluminum 8.5" vented barrel. They are quiet and light and remarkably accurate. I'm not sure of the exact bore diameter but I think it is around .687" id. It fits Diablo Blaze very well.
I picked one up for $19.95 new. You can't go wrong at that price. Check around.Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.Comment

I like 12" for woods cause on the freak its quiter than my 10" which I got after for speedball not that it matters much but if I have a choice for woods I like 12" don't go much longer 14 is even a litttle exsesiveZ-griped, warped, retromag with super bolt, and warpleft polished body, freak kit and flatline 3kComment

Shorter barrels are nice for CQB/Speedball play, and a 10" barrel would be nice when your contorted into a pretzel behind a tiny snake bunker. I prefer 12" barrels though. I guess it'sa pretty standard size, and its easy to maneuver with. 12" is plenty accurate for anyone, given that a longer barrel won't shoot any straighter.

Well I've shot 10, 12, 14, 10.5, and 13 inch barrels and I've come to the conclusion that I play better with longer barrels, so from this point on I'm using 14's. It isn't that they shoot better, but that I shoot better with them.
And I haven't found the 14 inch barrel to be any problem while playing tight front bunkers.2003 SuperBowl Champions!, THE New England Patriots!

I dont play woods all that much, but in speedball and hyper i like to play with a small barrel (10in)... i think they look cool small also.

It's weird. For some reason it doesn't feel right when I have my 8" MM barrel in, it feels right with like a 12/14". I don't know why, it's just this feeling. Anybody else like that?"If everything is under control your not moving fast enough."

i feel that way. i've been using my spyder with 14" all american stainless for so long, even 12" feel weird. also, the all american was very heavy and the 12" j&j ceramic is so light.Come to the testie-fest and have a ball!Comment

All of those will pretty much perform the same, except for how loud they are. I voted 12" just because 10" look sorta weird.
