    Minimag upgrades ???

I have an older left handed minimag (valve port on left and it is a black PF HL body) SN#15xx with a whispering death and bottom line, 14" armson barrel, 9v Revolution, all very cool in camo splash and a PTP double trigger...

I have been out of paintball for about 4 years and used to play at the tourney level. Recently I have decided to clean the dust of my gun and start playing again. I am constantly asked if my gun is a retro-valve. So I did a little research to find out about that and the new RT, etc. I know that when it gets a little colder, I will probably goto nitrogen, but I am wondering what other upgrades would be good $$ spent.

I am not a big paint bucket kind of shooter. This gun shoots 5 bps no problem, except maybe a little drop off. It takes a little oil and a parts kit every now and then, never breaks a ball (well, I have broken about 3 balls in 3000 rounds and half of that was 2year old paint). I love the gun, but ponder what would give it a little extra kick.

Has anyone one used/recommends the Reactor Z-valve, or the retro-mag valve kit.

Also, I notice that most everyone has gone away from the remotes for a drop forward tank on the gun. Is there an overwhelming reason for this or is it mainly personal preference?

    Thanks for your help!

ok if you are running co2 for a while, you might want an expansion chamber. if you don't shoot alo, you don't need to upgrade to a 12volt revvy.
upgrades are all personal preference. i would maybe invest in a few barrels. people use drop forwards more because it is more maneuverable. you don't have to run around with a pack on your back. with drop forwards, you can have a very balanced setup.

aftermarket vlave parts are pretty much worthless and are just a waste of money. if you want to really up the performance of your mag, get nitrogen and then a retro valve. (retro needs compressed air only)
