So my buddy got one of the new batch X-valves available now. He was trying to get it working on an old, pre CF frame Minimag, and at some point wanted to wanted to take off the reg end of the valve and used a rubber sleeve and some Vice grips. Long story short he scratched the hell out of the back end of the valve. My question, does anyone have some ADG X-vale back ends up for sale here? He was really bummed out and wanted to throw up over the whole thing.

You can use any Retro, RT Pro, or Emag back half. The lasering and the z lock pin might not line up. Most likely you will have to remove the z lock pin to get the field strip screw in. You will not find a back 1/2 for an Xvalve for sale by itself. If they are not too deep we might be able to machine it a bit. Send me an email. [email protected]Comment

Ok, I'll be the 1st person to say this.
Go hit your friend about the head & shoulders for using his stooopid strength. AFAIK, the new Xvalves aren't connected by anything than screw threads & an oring. Even if it were chemically bonded, like by loctite, then maybe, just maybe you shouldn't be taking it apart. If so, then find out how best to take it apart without putting on the custom "Idiot marks" on it.
I will agree, get a sharpie to hid the marks. While you will always know they are there, it might just pass the 10 foot test.Comment

In the future, those valves should be able to unscrew with your hands and then hand tighten when you screw it on. Wrenches aren't really necessary unless your friend's was really on there tight. Like going_home stated, live and learn. I've made some idiot marks on stuff and learned from it. Sorry that it happened.JB
