Discontinued HCMS-2919

Anyone know why the hcms-2919 (blue display) went obsolete but they still carry red, hes, yellow…? Like to tinker so it would be fun to have a blue one in the emag but seems like not a reality.

Has anybody used different options besides the hcms series displays?

Because blue LEDs are ridiculously expensive for some reason.

Where were you buying them, Digi-key?

I’ve never purchased them. Just digging back through the old threads here and looking through part numbers. But digikey and mouser both were who I checked.

Yes. They are around if you look hard enough. They are no cheap though. Please post a price when you find them. I thing they were around 30 bucks.

So far still looking. Sierra IC says ‘none in our extensive search of our warehouse’. No other responses yet. I’ll keep updating.
