    Drilling Revvy Gem Shells...

    Hey All,
I have a clear 12v Revvy to go on my Clear Warp. However, when I tried to drill the 1st right hand shell, I destroyed it. Mind you I did use a 1" spade bit instead of the 1" hole saw, but I'm afraid to drill the new right hand piece for fear of the same results.

I know the black (and color?) shells are "Softer" plastic and thus easier to drill? Has anyone succesfully drilled a clear shell, and if so, any suggestions? BTW - I do intend to use the hole saw on my next attempt.

    Thanks ~

The hole saw will accomidate any extra brittelness if it exists. I did the same thing as you and desroyed my first one with a Kirstner Boring bit that grabed and snapped at the last point of penatration. Done two more now with hole saws with excellent results.

AGD, where we are so good we can do it with only ONE tube!

i've used both and to me niether gave the results i wanted, but don't throw the old shell away until you are done dtrilling the new one. i used the older shell to practice on first, then after i felt comfortable with doing it i drilled the new shell. just a hint, but i used (sorry i don't know its name so i'll just describe it) a rock type of drill bit shaped like a cone. drilled a smaller hole to get it started and then used the rock bit to melt it to the desired size. but practice on the old shell first. hopefully this helps

I drilled my smoke revolution shell with a 1 inch hole saw and it worked perfect - no cracks or anything.

I used an empty 20mm cannon shell, heated with a torch, and pushed through the Revvy shell. Made a perfectly smooth hole that the hose just slipped through with no strain!

Use the hole saw, it won't grab the plastic as it gets thin like a boring bit will. Remember to cut it at the same angle the hose will be entering/exiting. The bottom hole should be slightly oblong to accomodate the straight up hose and the slanted shell. The top hole should come in at a 45 degree, the same angle as the PF tube.

This will allow the slight bend to occur inside the Revvy, and not have any severe bends to the hose.

unibit. itl drill the whole out slowly and advance in size from real small to as big as you want. itl depend on the size of unibit you use but itl give great results.
Sorry for the spelling. Im still working on it.
