emag chopping

hey guys
just recently blundered into owning an emag (previous owner abused it so i felt bad for it)
i just recently got an oppurtunity to gas it up and chop i mean shoot it
i am a relative mag newbie so if you guys could gives me the steps to diagnosing the chop problem
here are the stats on the gun:
emag #639
power feed right body
stock barrel
foamy bolt (was an old agd team gun)
fresh RP bigball with advantage shell(little tight but still blows through)
47 3000 pmi pure energy (guessing about 800 psi output)
trig is very reactive in manual
did chop in manual mode as well as in electro set at 12 bps
12 volt revy running turbo rev board with fresh batts
both detents are installed spaced at matchbook distance (anybody have an exact number aka .25")
and yes i know the best way to solve this is a warp feed but i'm feeling very broke at the moment

are you chopping or breaking? do you get shell all on your bolt and powerfeed, or just in the barrel?

I read a review of the emag and they said that the end of the barrel on the emag has a sharp edge to it and it was causing balls to break at the tip of the barrel

we are talking paint fill flying out of the power feed in a spurt when it chops........

a 12v Rev can't feed 12bps constantly. If you do'nt want to spend that much, get the new cheaper Ricochet2k. But i'd recommend getting a Warpfeed and you will never worry about any feeding problems agian.

it's chopping like the second ball in the stack before the rev has even spun.....
my friend runs an emag on a 12volt revy at 12 bps perfectly.....

Sounds like the ball isn't dropping into the chamber properly. Check your nubbins, with the older bolt P-nubbins worked better for me than V nubbins.

I think they said not to run it over 10V. Also, we found with our powerfeeds that if we left them like 1/16" out of being flush, the balls fed better. We are using Warp feeds, which come with their own 'personality' traits.

ok, look at your powerfeed plug. does it stick out at all so that it might block balls from going in? you may have to adjust it.

emag chopping

i had exactly the smae symptom with my emag.
usually the first or second ball.

herei s what i did to fix it

1.) make usre tthe switch was in the correct posittion
( it was -electronic mode)

2.) reseat the powerfeed plug making sure that it was lined up correctly.
( i was baout 4 deg off center)

3.) swapped the battery in my warp for the fresh one

problem solved!

i have since gotten a warp mainbody and have had no further problems it seems to be more tolerant of slightly off center plugs and weaker batteries.
