    oil in my ASA

in my manual, it says to put autolube in the ASA of my mag weekly. is it ok to put oil in the ASA if the oil would have to travel through a macro line, an expansion chamber, and a stainless steel hose to get to my valve?

In your case, it would be better to pull the hose off the elbow at the AIR valve, if you have a quick disconnect there. Get one if you don't.

You will waste a lot of oil by putting it in your ASA now.

They always said put the oil in as close as possible to the reg, but the ASA is the most convenient. Lucky for me, Minimags have a QD at the reg.

does putting oil in the two holes on the bottom of the valve, marked "oil" do the same thing as putting oil in the ASA?

          no
taht should only been done occasionly

just pust some in the bolt after every 1000 shots or something otherwise put oil in the asa TAKE off the barrel, then gas it up and shoot bout 25 shots off, then the whole internals are oiled up

Oil keeps mags happy, but remeber to take your barrel off and shoot all the oil out of the gun, and make sure the bolt is clean of oil otherwise you will be shooting very inaccurate.

              no oil on the bolt?

I thought that the bolt should have a slight amount of oil on it...I can see the outside of the bolt not having oil, but shouldn't the inside have some oil to reduce friction/wear?

there should be a thin amount, but that will be taken care of when you fire oil thru the gun, no need to oversaturate the ptube oring. Also, dont run oil in macroline, the tube absorbs moisture and swells it.

The bolt shouldn't have alot of oil on it. If it doesn't it will get into your barrel. Oil in your barrel will put spin on the ball makeing it do wierd things. This is why after oiling your gun, you take 30 shots or so without the barrel to get oil that would normally end up in the barrel out.

umm yeah...I was talking about inside, not the outside, I never oil the outside of the bolt/spring.

a slight amount of oil on the inside of the bolt is ok, but remeber If you have to much, every time you shoot some oil will go into the barrel.

Ok, yeah I know oil will be shot into the barrel I always dry fire about 20-30 times. But I was using some oil on the bolt (outside) which I wont be doing anymore...
