I did this to my mag, and it looks and performs so much better. First of all, it brings the hopper down about an inch. might not seem like much, but it is. another thing is the looks it adds to your mag. Once its cut down, you don't have this rediculasly huge feed tube hangin on your gun. So far I have had no problems with it, just make sure you have atleast 7-8 paintballs in your hopper at all time, but i guess that is the same as when its normal. So i would say go for it, its worth it! Also don't forget, once its off, its off.

obviously Tom made it that length for a reason, that being feeding reliability. If you are willing to reduce the reliability of your gun for and inch i say go for it. I may sound a little dramatic i don't think it will make it that much less reliable but then again, how much better will it be with it off?

You don't have as many balls stacked up when you do that. Results vary, do so at your own risk...

I did it but the only reason I did was becuase I got a warp feed and it works great
I really would recomend doing it if you dont have a warp

I cut down my classic feed to put a proteam products powerfeed on it. It is now a lot lower and is directly above the body like a vertical feed. I can sight down the body with nothing in the way. Works great.

The automag was also designed over 10 years ago before motorized hoppers came out. I've never seen any problems with cutting the feed tube. I have seen a hyperframe outshoot a standard feed with old bolt.
