I am wanting to buy another nitro tank, and dont know rather I should get a 68/3000 88/3000 68/4500 88/4500.

How many shoots will I get out of these tanks.

Right now I am leaning towards the bigger tank just for the fact that I play rec and live about 40 miles from the closest place where I can get my tank filled. So I can't afford to drive up there every day.

If you need a lot of shots from the tank, you should get the 88/4500. You might want to look into getting a Scuba tank and a fill station...

Yea I have a fill station just no scuba tank as of right now.

anyone know the estimated number of shoots for these tanks.

To find the # of shots on a 3000 tank, multiply the cubic inches by 10.2
To find the shots of a 4500 tank, multiply the CI by 16. I would get the 68 4500. Great deals on e-bay for those. That would give you a tank that's not huge an 88 is rediculously clumsy - and still give you more then half a case of shots. A scuba tank is about $150 online, so it's cheaper then all the tanks you mentioned, so i would strongly urge you to get the 68 4500 and the scuba if you need to fill often.

Probably get that scuba thing. But if you have a good setup (i.e. good paint-barrel match, minimaly ported barrel, and keep the velocity lower rather than higher, 280 instead of 300), you can get a lot of shots out of a 68ci 4500psi. With a 47ci 3000psi tank, lapco bigshot stainless steel barrel, matching paint to barrel, and a velocity of 280 +/-4, I get 750-800 shots.

BTW, if you play at a field, they fill it up for you anyway so what are you worrying about? If you play with friends or something then thats another story...

I was thinking of leaning to the 68cu 4500psi tank, I also want to get a scuba tank but the scuba place where we get our tanks filled is going to be selling there scuba tanks pretty soon so I am also waiting for one of those.

If anyone else has any comments please write them down.

How can that calculation be correct? There are so many factors that affect the amount of shots you get. Input pressure, velocity, barrels (porting/length), type of marker. Everything...

So it's just a rough estimate isn't it?

I just picked up a 88ci 4500 tank, and the thing isn't that much bigger than a 68. At least i didn't notice.

I don't find the thing clumsy or big.

If you have your own scuba get a smaller tank, you can keep topping it off after each round.

be sure u r allowed to bring the scuba tank to ur field though, cause in some states it is now illegal.....for safety issues

ABOUT THE SCUBA THING

i have a 68/3000 and a scuba with fill station...if you plan on using the scuba and fill station as your main way of filling, then is is almost pointless to get a 4500 psi tank b/c scuba tanks can only hold 3000-3500psi, which means you will never be able to fill the pb tank up to 4500psi. also, you won't even be able to fill up the 68/3000 tank completely after the first time you use the scuba b/c the pressure drops in the scuba each time you use it (obviously), but i can still get enough air to run 4 or 5 cases through my gun (just topping off after each game). however, if you play a lot of tourney/indoor where you have to buy their air then i would definitely go for the 68/4500 or 88/4500 and live with not being able to fill it up to 4500psi when you play rec-ball.

I had a centerflag 45 4500 on my e-mag and I only got around 450 shots on a full fill.

So I bought a 88 4500 and now I get around 1000 shots per fill.

Also I dont find the 88s much more bulky than the 68s my first air system was an apocalypse 128 all the new air systems are tiny compared to it.
