    Power Tube Spacer/Tip question

I've got a 68 mag with stock internals. There's a leak coming from the barrel so I assume I need to switch out power tube spacers, the kits on the way. But while cleaning, I noticed that the power tube tip was stuck in hte back of the bolt. Somehow it's coming unscrewed. Would this be caused by the power tube spacer? Or is there something else going on that I don't know about? I've checked the threads, they're not stripped, the o-rings are new and it was tightened up fully. Help!

firstoff, are you tightening down the power tube tip with a coin before you use it?? other than taht, you might wanna try repalcing the o-ring on the tip.

Have you recently put on a new bolt, grip frame, rail etc on your mag?? if so, its probably a powertube spacer problem. if not. you probably just need a new power tube o-ring or your marker needs to be oiled. Another solution ive found, should oiling it not work, take the power tube o-ring, and rub a drop or less onto the power tube o-ring.

Well, Since you both seemed to have tried the standard trouble shooting already, and since you didnt say if you had added any new parts to your mag as of recent, such as a new grip frame, rail or bolt etc. I'll presume for the time being that you did, and therefore, it is likely a power tube spacer problem.

Did you change the o-ring on the power tube tip? If you did, put the old one back on. It is not the same size as the power tube o-ring and is there to keep the tip secure. If you put the power tube o-ring on the tip, it will continuously unscrew. These o-rings do not come in the kit. In the meantime, you may be able to secure it with a few layers of teflon tape.

the way it works is, when you add a new part, the tolerences can shift slightly, and the spacers are used to compinsate for it. If your getting bolt stick, you want to install a shorter spacer, if your getting barrel leak, you want a longer one. the idea is to find an equilibrium between the two where you get no bolt stick, as well as no barrel leak.
