Rob, can you help with a few questions about your "E-Mag, Revy battery hack."

Quote from "E-Mag, Revy battery hack.":
"C1 & C2 are 100mF Capacitors they act like a line conditioner for the reg. This solved several current problems I had."

I was wondering if you could tell me what type of current problems you had and why?

Also, I was wondering if I can run a regulated 12v to my Revy or do I HAVE TO run 18v's and let the Revy regulate down to 12v ?

One more, why couldn't you/I use a phono jack in the "Revy hack" for power IN instead of the HD 9v snap?

    Thanks,
    luke

      Maybe I could reply:

I can see two reason to add capacitors: high surge of current when the motor starts, or some noise on the power supply lines, which cause troubles with the electronics, or both...

You could run your revy from a 12v regulated supply, if you're sure the regulator will handle the load correctly, and not burn.

You can use any kind of connection you want, of course. If I was you I would pay attention to the shortcuts problems you could get when you carry the marker.
