Any ideas on reducing bolt noise?

Does anyone have any ideas on how to reduce the pinging noise the bolt makes in the Classic Automag?

me, along with another person on this board(sorry i forget who you are), were working on a bumper that oes in front of the bolt spring that would cushion the bolt instead of hearing the bang. it made a difference, but not too much.

When you did that ChaOtic, did you have to change the power tube spacer to compensate for the added bumber or not?

Try contacting Randomboy, he made something to reduce noise, but it confused the heck out of me.

Good point pyro, but it is still kind of annoying though.

Just put in a barrel o-ring, I did it and it worked.
It's the perfect size since it was made to fit the mag's body tube.

Let me correct my previous post, it was not a barrel o-ring that I put, it was a level 7 bumper that I trimmed down so the bolt tube can go thru the center of it.

                      In reply to speedball

Outline the bolt's front end on the bumber with a pen. When this is done, cut away the the inner part of the bumber with a cutter. The bolt tube has to fit the hole in the center of the bumper with a little allowance so as not to hinder the movement of the bolt. After all this is done, drop the bumber into the rear body tube and make it rest flat on the part where the bolt spring pushes against. The end result is that the bumper will be between the spring and the body tube part where the spring originally rests, preventing the spring and the bolt from "pinging" against the metal body tube.

ok before you guys go cutting away, you have to know somthing. inside the tube, right before the step where the bolt spring goes against, there is a step. you cannot measure the i.d. of the tube and make the bumber to that measurement. you have to take the i.d. of this step. look in your body and you'll see it.
