your all going to hate me

        "The WGP Autococker.

Why? Versatility combined with quality and performance. Pure and simple.

The 'Cocker works very well, out of the box. I have seen several postings from players who have literally taken the brand-new gun out of the box on Friday evening, and played a tournament on Saturday morning.

The 'Cocker can be a $400 recball gun or a $2,000 electropneumatic screamer, as well as about forty different levels in between. 'Cockers (and Snipers) are seen at every level of the sport; rec games, outlaw fields, regional tourneys, National and International Tournaments, on TV, etc.

It can take CO2 or HPA/Nitrogen, and can operate at any pressure from unregulated CO2 (800+ psi) down to ultra-low regulated pressures (175-ish psi) and, unlike those few others that also take CO2, isn't badly affected by a small dollop of liquid.

With minor changes, the gun can be either a pump or a semiautomatic. It can be converted back and forth easily and quickly.

They use, and created, the de facto 'standard' in barrels; Almost every "high end" gun made these days uses "WGP"-thread barrels.

The 'Cocker is supported by a huge aftermarket industry- It is actually now possible to build an Autococker without having ever purchased a WGP part.

The body of the gun, by its very design, has wrought a 'side industry' in paintgun customization. The very fact that it had a large amount of "blank canvas" upon which to mill, drill, polish and anodize has led, directly or indirectly, to things like the "Tribal" milling and "Eclipse" body milling.

No other gun is sold in as many 'premodified' or customized versions, by so many different companies.

To this day, even with fields full of Shockers, Angels and Bushmasters, players still say their gun is "accurate as a 'Cocker" or "has range as good as a 'Cocker".

And, given the fact that, also in this day of Angels, Shockers and Bushmasters, that a company has put the time and effort into tooling up for (and going to court for) an all-new version of the same old 'Cocker body, tells us that there is still significant demand for this gun. In the same vein, people are buying $1,500 Sandridge 'Cockers, basically so they have the same trigger as a $1,000 Angel. That tells a lot, once one thinks about it.

All that, combined, cannot be beat by any other single marker.

The 'Mag isn't as versitile, and virtually requires HPA.

The Angel may be the "top gun" right now, but can't use CO2, and being $1,000+ places it outside much of the playing public.

The Shocker is larger, less gas efficient and allows only the most minor and superficial milling.

The Spyder has similar aftermarket support, but remains a recball gun- Very few are used in anything more than small regional tourneys.

The floor is open to debate."
