    First calm down.... breathe.

Ok, 114 Ci. is 114 cubic inches. That's just the size of the tank. Tanks come in a few different sizes, the most common being 47, 68, 88, and 114 cubic inches. Obviously the bigger the tank the more air it holds and the more shots you get.

3000 psi is the pressure of the tank PSI stands for pounds per square inch. Tanks currently come in 3000 and 4500 psi tanks. A 68/4500 psi tank holds more air than a 68/3000 because it, in effect, has more air crammed into the same size space.

You choose the size and kind of tank based on how many shots you need and the gas efficiency of your gun. Say you feel the need to shoot 1000 shots a game but you don't want to haul around a large 114 tank, you could get the same results from a much smaller 68/4500 tank. (Just make sure the field you go to can fill 4500 psi tanks, some can't)

Tanks aslo come in preset and adjustable. Preset tanks ahve a fixed output meaning the gas comes out of the tank, when attached to your gun, at an ouput pressure of around 800-850 psi which will work with almost any gun. Presets screw in just like a CO2 tank. Adjustables are just like they sound. the pressure is adjustable to fine tune to the needs of higher-end guns. For you, I'd just use a preset.

As far as getting one on your carbine you'll probably want some sort of drop forward to move weight of the tank more under the gun to make the weight and bulk of the tank balanced. www.G3pb.com has some nice inexpensive drops that works with the ASA already on your gun. So all you need to do is unscrew the ASA from the bottom of your grip, screw the your drop forward into the grip and put the ASA on the other end of the drop. Then screw your preset tank right into the ASA.

Hope this clears it up for you.

      im new too

      pbj,

i just got a 88/4500 maxflo, and im a good sized guy (6'1", 220#), and its ALMOST too big for me...course im not using a drop forward with it (i think it will be ok if when i do), but you probably dont want a 114 ci...maybe a 68 or 88...

but, try em all out on your gun (if you can) BEFORE making a decision...maybe some of the guys at your field will let you try em.

Nice job on explaining the CI vs. PSI characteristics of the various tanks.

There's some new 5000 psi N2 tanks out now. Forget who makes them. Saw them at the Bad Boyz Toyz pig roast/sale a couple weeks ago.
