As long as you run complete strokes on the trigger..paint break should not occurr. You need to take into account that paint not match to your barrel could cause breakage. Other than that...I've chopped maybe 4 balls in my mag since I got it 9 months ago. I fire about 7-9 bps.. so no..it shouldn't break paint unless you short-stroke it..

Well like most things it's a matter of perception over reality. Any marker will break paint, it's the things you do to avoid it that counts.
      A few suggestions:
      1. Read this thread (at least the begining). http://www.automags.org/forums/showt...threadid=12911
You want to make sure you have the new feed plug. I will swear by this.

      2. A decent hopper. (Revolution, Halo, Riccochet)
I use an old vl2000 which I'm happy with.

      3. Most importantly, learn the mags trigger. You need to have sometime before your first game with it to practice pulling the trigger. What I would suggest is gas it up and fire it. At a very slow pace, pull the trigger fully. Then release it fully. Over time pick up the pace. If you try going as fast as you can every now and then you will hear a burp (for lack of a better term). That is when you "short-stroked" it. You want to avoid doing this, it causes problems like chopping balls or maybe double feeding.
Anyway, practice the trigger tons before going out to play. This will avoid some big problems and get you down the road to breaking in the trigger.
      Welcome and good luck!

Well it shouldn't break paint any more than any other marker.
Sounds like side stepping I know. I must mention my earlier statment about perception.
Brittle paint is just that and it doesn't matter once the ball is chambered. If the ball wasn't going survive the burst of air from an Angel it wouldn't have survived it from a Autococker.
I would suggest that you try your marker out for a while. If you like it thats all that matters. If you don't there plenty of others. I have seen plenty of Angels and Autocockers have bad days or bad owners. As long as you take the time to properly maintain any marker it will perform.

you just need your gun set right, I have a warp to load right and I don't even have a foamie(plus I shoot in good fast bursts) and have not broken a round in about 3,000 shots at least

I break paint in every game I use my mag in.

The guys I break it on don't like it, but that's what you get when playing against a mag. He he.

If you learn the technique of shooting a mag, you'll be fine. Many people get high performance guns and think they can immediately shoot 15 ball per second. Shoot slowly at first and as you get used to the trigger pull, you'll get faster and faster.

They are excellent markers and are the workhorses of the industry.

I have gone day after day shooting thousands of paintballs without a ball break in my mag.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

hey tom_hill, i think you will enjoy your mag. just make sure you get mag replacement kit and you will not have any problems. i boughtmine used and had problems with velocity and paint breaking etc. i replaced everything with AGD PARTS KIT (ONLY) and have not had a problem since. played last night with some pretty nasty paint, all dimpled, of different sizes, warped, etc. teh cocker that i was playing with broke paint in his gun evry 100 shots or so, always squeegying. the pirahna was shooting all over the place, some would say because of poor barrel/paintmatch, but he was running a freak. my trusty mag was shooting straight and true and not a break in the gun all night! your getting the right gun.
