AGD needs to pick up the pace

being the mag fan that i am, im in serious doubt of AGD's future. besides the e-mag, they keep thier designs in the past. I mean come on, they havent changed anything besides nit-picky things in the alst like 99999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 999999999999999999999999999 years. I think they have to stop working on new guns and just redo the whole mag completely. I mean not the internals, but even if they have to jack up the prices, make them stock so all you do is add nitro and a barrel and you can keep up with angels.
I know people are gonna doubt me, but fine. But think of something, take a picture of a tourney game with alot of people in it, and count the mags vs. any other gun. As the years go on you will see less and less if they dont change, in the pro and the rec scene.

anyway, jsut my opinion, feel free to share yours.

Look around, do a search. You'll see that Tom IS actually making some changes. Coming out with the C&C which is supposed to rival ANY marker in every aspect, making some changes to body styles, and things of the like. I'm not jumping on you, but many others will for your bluntness on the topic.

Honestly, do a search and look at some of the newer prototypes Tom has shown on the boards. Not only are they all very neat imho, but they also change the look of the 'old' mag.

Also, right before Christmas I bought an RT Pro. I pulled it out of the box, added my Pure Energy tank, and haven't looked back since. I can keep up with the 'best' markers at all the fields I've played at. Never had a problem going head to head with an angel.

And as far as scientists know, NOTHING has been around for that many years. Next time don't fall asleep on the 9 key...
Don't think of it as being outnumbered, think of it as a wide target selection.

And about tourney pics.... That is true. But there is a reason. WDP and WGP sponser a lot more teams than AGD does. These sponserships are why people shoot their guns. They see the pros with them and think that they must be the best.

Mags are on the rise out here in southern california!!! I am seeing many more emags/warps at every field I go to. I cant help but think I and some members on the team I belong to had something to do with it.

i will admit however, that something needs to be done to the classic mag. and about not seeing a lot of mags arounds, that is true as well, i know that where i play i see a hell of a lot more cockers and angels than mags, and . But i think that the emag, and extreme will be seen more often. warps r really popular. i keep seeing em on every mag. i wish i had warp. AGD RULES!!!! yay, when i get a bunch of money, i am gonna buy me an sfl or extreme

Think of it this way

Look through an Action Pursuit Games from 5 or even 10 years ago. Mags were every where. They were the only company with outstanding technology back then, that has lasted. Its not that they're not any good, or not keeping up, it's just that more companies are finally getting on board and starting to catch up (flooding the market). Affordable electros and high end semis are more readily available. Eliminate all the cheap "me too" markers that you would never consider, and you're only left with a few good guns, mags included. How can you say they haven't kept up? Who else has one of the fastest stock markers (68mag), an awesome reactive marker (retro), and a kick as electro (Emag)with several body styles (sfl, extreme). Even cockers, while still a very good gun, have yet to really offer anything other than different colors or body parts. I think AGD is still very ahead of the competion.
But thats just MY opinion.

Actually thats a FACT. There is yet to be a gun that surpasses the performance of the RT valve system in terms or rate of fire, rapid fire cosnsistency, and relaibility.

We will see a resurgence of the mag. Look around, all the signs are right! Take the IR3, for example. I can't think about someone shooting it without snickering! Battery life, lcd, ir port? 14 way servo valve? Just a bunch of things to not work in a firefight. More importantly, look in those angel, impulse and cocker owners' gearbags for a backup gun, and you'll likely find a mag.
IMHO, paintgun technology has currently apexed with the RT. Basically it's an electro without electro problems. I don't know of any gun capable of 15 BPS that is cleaned by putting it in a bucket of water, do you? Personally, I take mine in the shower with me!

Thank you butter....

Minimagger, you seem very new on here, you should maybe look around and search for proto's or at least ask around before saying anything like that about AGD.

AGD is still leading the pack and I see doing so for many MORE years to come.

One day old thread goes "classic"

This thread is a testament to mags. Not because it's mag fans fluffing up the gun in a biased mag forum, but because it the truth. Three companies made it through more than a decade of production. An automag is the "out of the box" standard other markers strive to be.
I'm not jumping all over the opinion that AGD has lost a step. I'm legitimately saying look at every market AGD has entered. Stock fast-reliable gun,...BAM!!, 68 automag. Fast electro..BAM!!!! Emag. Nitro tank, got that too, ball feeder system..... Hmmmm, every one wants a warp feed.

I think it was Bud Orr back in 1997 who first added dates to the names of markers with the '97 Autococker. I don't think it was his intention, but it seems to have caused a downward spiral whereby people are more inclined to think newer is better.

I can't even begin to list the number of times I've heard people discussing how outdated their 2001 (fill in the blank) or their generation (fill in the blank) was because a newer model just came out. It's sad that a marker is now "obsolete" as fast as a video card is. Are we going to start seeing 2003 models in June, like with cars?

At least Airgun Designs hasn't jumped on the bandwagon yet with a "2002 Extreem E-Mag"... And I'll be sticking with my "1995 Minimag", thank you very much!

I have to agree with what just about everyone else said. AGD is not falling behind... they are more like resting from the far ahead lead. They haven't been pushed or felt a need to make anything "Fancy" since performance and reliability speaks for itself.

People who by markers for looks are what I like to call "Ricers" and own "Riceguns". Everyone has seen a ricer wether they know it or not. Definition - Ricer n.- Person who adds High-performance Yellow stickers to their vehicle thinking it adds 5-10 hp per sticker. Person who badges their vehicle with options not-so equipped i.e. Honda Civic Type-R badges?? There's no such thing as a civic type-R.

None the less.. AGD will be around for a LOOONNNGG time wether anyone likes it or not. They have found a simple yet consistent design, which put them in the big lead they were in for the last 10-12 years. Now with the e-mags and Rt's and soon to be C&C mentioned above they will be able to relax for another 2-3 yrs.. They here to stay.. FOR GOOD.

BTW.. HOW COME I CAN'T POST A PIC OF MY GUN WITH MY SIG???
