i bought my mag used ... and the dude i bought it from said it was a smart mag ... what does this mean? how can i tell if it is or not?

SmartMags were mags resold by Smart Parts with the addition of the "Magic Box" modification on the side. If it has a big black thing sticking out of the side of the valve, it's probably a SmartMag.
It was an attempt to make a larger volume/lower pressure mag... which did nothing.

My SmartMag doesn't have the black box on it.
That was just an addon for normal mags to get what actual SmartMags do.
It should say "SmartMag" where it usually says 68Automag.
On the back of my triggerframe it says "SmartParts" as wellComment
