    Custom dropforward- how can I coat it or anodize it?

    I recently cast my own dropforward out of aluminum. I polished it to a shine (looks like stainless steel) and coated it with laquer to prevent it from oxidizing.
    Except after I played with it a few times the hard laquer started to chip off.
    Is there some kind coating or anodizing that I can do my self? Or is there another alternative?

    You can have the drop forward powder coated. This process essentially bakes on a paint which makes it very hard and resistent to scratches and chips. There's a guy on this forum by the name of RedRider who does this type of work. Do a search for his name on the forum and you'll find his email address. It won't cost you too much but it's expensive to buy the stuff you need to do it yourself. There is also an article on how to anodize at home. Here's the link if you want to give it a shot:
