All yah need is some sandpaper and muscle.
Take 300grit paper and sand the s*&t outta it. There'll be alot of pitting at first, sand past all that.
Then start using 5-600grit
Then 800
then 1000
then 12-1500 grit.
After all that i used some VERY fine steel wool from a friend of mine who refinishes furniture (said it was 0000 gauge?!?)
It should be pretty smooth. If you have a dremel put a buffing wheel on it and use some buffing compound on it.
You should be able to see your reflection on your gun now.
It took me a while, and a few blisters to get it done, but it looks pretty sweet.
All in all i spend about $6CAD in sandpaper. -

Anything that is metal can be polished. It just takes longer depending on material. Don't know why you'd want to but it is possible to polish Iron and Lead two of the most dense metals. Now with paintball gun parts... the hard part is removing the current coating (sanding). Polishing is a very time-consuming procedure and it best done with a good set of hands, reasonable amount of common sense, and a benchgrinder with a polishing wheel. Also some jewlers rouge or polishing compound is a must! I think at most bookstores you can find a polisher's handbook full of do's and don'ts. Even a few short-cuts and words from experience. Check it out. Have fun. Don't press to hard, let the wheel do the work!

Actually they're very right.
I have polished many bodies and stripped them. You can also sand out most of the dings and scratches too.
I use for steel and any other metal that will rust Metal Ready by POR 15, it puts a zinc oxide film on the metal and prevents it from rusting
Then you can add a clear coat if you wish.
I sanded my micromag by hand and stripped all of the anodizing off, the same way Cphilip said.
It is the cheapest way.
Good Luck
