    Ball chopping problem

I recently bought a mag and it chopped like crazy.

At first, I realised that my ball detent was broken.
Then, I realised that the fomie was not on the bolt, a fomie ANS bolt. Would a fomie not on a fomie bolt cause alot of breakage.

    Dye SS barrel
    Benchmark 2x trigger
    Hurricane Labs valve
    ANS fomie bolt
S/F (whats the performance difference for s/f and p/f?)
    8 hole reg

What else do you suggest I upgrade to improve performance, not ROF. I don't care about firing 10+ balls a second. I know that the barrel and paint is about 90% of the performance, but what can I do to the gun to make it better? I'll post back monday w/ results of it w/ the fomie on. (we had no clue and I left the stock bolt at home so I couln't shoot it when it was all right)

Well if you have all the original internals and bolts etc, slap them on. The 8-hole mod wont work unless you have one of the older level mags. As far as i know the bolt will work alright with out the fomie but the stock bolt is best.

The difference between standard feed and power feed is that p/f uses blowback from the mag to feed properly, whereas the blowback on the stardard feed will bobble your balls (were all adults here - well maybe one or two kids)

Ok, first off, check this thread out. . .it may help ya alot. http://automags.org/forums/showthrea...threadid=32839

Second, i would reccomend puting the stock parts back on. Loose the hurricane valve. (that IS your '8 hole reg') That 'lil guy is doing absolutely NOTHING for you.

The difference with the standard feed will simply be that it wont feed as fast as powerfeed. so, you may experience more chops due to the fact that the SF simply wont allow balls to go in there as fast. . . however, from personal experience i have discovered that this is really not a noticeable problem. My SF fed just fine, however, i did chop it down to a shorter legnth.

The benchy frame can be modified to cut the pull in half- - resulting in a shorter pull (all ya do is turn the safety into a trigger stop, and elinate all theover travel on the ridiculously looooong benchmark pull.)
A better idea is to replace it with an AGD intelliframe. Whether or not you want to intellifeed your gun is immaterial. The trigger frame has one of the sweetest pulls ive felt on a mag. MUCH better than a benchy.

I would aslo suggest that ya put the stock bolt back on. Some people have had good results w/ the ans bolt, however in those RELATIVLY FEW cases, often they were just putting the bolt on for the heck of it. . . i.e. there was nothing wrong with the stock one. . .SO, id didnt really improve performance.

As far as additional 'upgrades' you will actually see results from, #1, go nitro. . if you havent already.
#2, put in a retro valve thats a super-performance enhancing upgrade. . . its definitly worth the cash.

the last thing you can do to tweak the performance is to get a power tube spacer kit, learn how they work, and find the optimum one for you.

Hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions. AND, Welcome to AO!.

And you might be short-stroking it. It is easy to do with the benchmark frame. Make sure you pull the trigger all the way back and let it come all the way forward.

          FOAMIES ON ANS FOAMIE BOLTS!

I have something to say about foamies and ANS foamie bolts. I'm not downing one or the other... just when you put the two together you get a blender. Imagine this...

I have an ANS foamie bolt. I have foamies for this ANS foamie bolt. I played for about 6 months without a foamie cuz I wasn't gonna superglue it on. NEVER CHOPPED PAINT! I had a few in barrel breaks but no chops. (Looks like someone stabbed your mag right in the feed tube! Bleeeehhh!) Well anyway back to my story. I superglued a foamie on my bolt since I had some superglue at the time, and the first 7 shots... CHOP! BLEEEHH... 10 minutes later after cleaning everything out... 15 shots... CHOP! I was like... wtf?? I removed the foamie and remnants thereof with some acetone nailpolish remover. I ran a whole hopper-ful without a single broken ball. I wasn't even shooting fast with the foamie on. However with the foamie off.. I emptied the hopper in about 20 seconds... go figure.. I'm leaving my foamie off! (What a rebel I am )

umm yeah u dont want any after market parts in your mag that are not AGD because they dont do anything better and often hurt your guns proformance get a retro and N2 tank and then get a realy fast loader

Ok, I have the stock parts back on. I have spacers and springs of diferent sizes, but don't know how to use them. I think its if air is leaking out of the barrel, you need a longer spacer, and if the bolt is sticky to the powertube, you need a shorter. Can any one give me a link to a page that explains that? (And the trigger pull mod) Will the retro do anything other then incease rof?

              thanks a lot.
