Can you put the E-mag rail screws in w/out a site rail on?

If I get an E-mag, I don't want a site rail on, but I don't want those holes in the rail either. Can I just put the screws in or will they not go in all the way without the site rail on?

Problem is, they are truncated screws so they can set inside the countersink. If you screw them into the rail alone, the head will be above the surface.

Get a strip of aluminum the same thickness as the sight rail, drill and countersink it, then screw that to the body rail. The sight rail is gone, the screws don't stick up, and the holes are still covered.

Be sure to polish or "fancy" the strips up, so as to claim being customized!

Can't I just go to the hardware store and get the same size screws as the site rail ones but just shorter and screw them in? That would cover up the holes right?

Well sure. Better yet, get Allen set screws so they will be flush with the rail surface.

Personally, I would go with the custom pieces so as to have my gun stand out. Like carving them into flames or some such design.

I run my Emag with no sight rail with the screws in. Works great for me.
