Right, this may sound dumb, but how can i remove the steel hose w/out damaging them?

Use a wrench that fits securely over them. I use cresent wrenches to take off gas lines. I dont have any problems.

I heard the steel hose comes off easily with a big dose of PUTTING THE TOPIC OF YOUR POST IN THE SUBJECT LINE!
