ok, i've been around for a while and i know not to mess with the trigger rod length on a mag cause it's bad. but today i got a good idea. what if i drill a hole in my trigger and screw in a screw so that i can take the slack outta my triger, no adjustments to the rod, just making the rod and the trigger have way less of a gap between them. i shoot a 2x trigger on a stock frame. i don't see a problem with eliminating a gap as long as it doesn't affect the rod length. is there a problem w/ this?

Too much trouble...
I am also shooting my mag with the stock frame and a DYE double trigger.
I had to file away the trigger guard in a certain way to get the double trigger to seat properly when I pulled the trigger. I maintained the gap the old trigger had with the rod by extending the sear rod a bit and I am not having any problems, this gap is what is recommended by AGD. When the gun is all gased up, a credit card must fit between the rod and the trigger.
One more thing, I think the mags need this gap to give enough room fot the sear to fully lock on the bolt.

you're smart enough to know not to adjust the rod. so you've got 90% more competence than most people wanting less slack. benchmarks are easy to adjust slack in, a set screw here, a washer there, presto. smooth, no wobble. AGD stock frames, well, they dont need much. check out www.g3pb.com and look at what he did to a benchy. you CAN do that to a AGD, just not really easy, since its that polycarbonate polymer thingymewho. depending how much trigger gaurd you chopped, you can drill upwards RIGHT at the back, a small bit of course, and insert a tiny screw. that will stop your overtravel. it takes time, patience, and can get annoying. you have to get it cemented down so it wont come loose, or threaded, which is difficult. or just keep playing, and eventually, you'll get so used to the trigger, you'll fly and shoot fast and not worry bout it"Mad Painter"

i could prolly put 3 credit cards in the gap so what i did is put the screw in the trigger to make the 3 cards werth of slack go away, no trigger rod adjustments, just an eliminating of the slack/gap between the rod and the trigger meeting. it werks fine."If i had a dollar for every time that she was mad, i'd buy California, invite my friends, and i'd make it my pad" Mad Caddies
