    double feeding with plastic nubbin

i was wondering if anyone else has had this problem with the plastic nubbin. i bought a new superbolt about 2 months ago & when i got my freak system i put in a plastic nubbin along w/ the superbolt, and went outside to see what it could do. the paint flew very straight, but it double fed about every 20 times. i know its not a really big deal, but when you have someone out in the open you wanna shoot, it helps if the paint get there instead of 2 paintballs going half as far as if just one shot. if anyone has some helpful information i would very much appreciate it.

Does the nubbin stick far enought into the barrel to stop a ball?

I had this same problem with my plastic nubbin on my boomstick, but I was shooting 2 about every shoot by the end of the day. I'm playing today and I have just bent the nubbin farther into the barrel. I hope this takes care of the problem if not, back to the wire nubbins.

it sticks far enough into the barrel, but every now & then a ball gets past it & it shoots 2 paintballs. i might try bending it.

when you put the barrel into the gun, you'l see that the nubbin is pushed in by the body. So put something (a drop of glue, some tape, on the nubbin to make it fatter, so the contact with the body tube will push it in further.
          Hope this helps.

Well I tried bending the plastic nubbin into the barrel, and it did not work at all. I have put less than a 1000 rounds through this plastic nubbin and am not impressed with it all. I'll try using tape on the back to hold it into the barrel and see if that works.

The nubbins only protrude into the barrel a tiny bit to prevent the ball from rolling forward. If the paint is much too small for the barrel it will still roll past the nubbin. Use a larger bore paintball with that barrel, or use a smaller bore barrel to match the paint you are using.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

i use a freak so it would roll up to the insert & double feed or i would chop a ball. i will try the tape thing eventually.

A thing I've noticed is that aftermarket barrels don't have the slot for the nubbin milled the same as AGD's barrels. The slot for the nubbin is an oval shape and and on the top and bottom of the oval it tapers in towards the barrel. If you look at a stock AGD barrel and an aftermarket one, you'll see what I'm talking about. I've noticed that not having that taper sometimes doesn't let the nubbin sit as far in as it should.
