    Idea!!-Warp toggle power switch

    Here's my proposal:
I just got my warp today.. and already I see some room for improvement (not that theres anything wrong with it TK ) But I was reading the manual and it said the battery compartment had room for two 9V batteries. It said not to run the warp on more than 12 volts for obvious reasons. Now what I plan on doing it getting another set of 9v connectors and an (on)-off-(on) toggle switch. Voltage has no prejudice on direction and electrical component other than polarity. As long as you keep the polarity correct, you could use and (on)-off-(on) switch to toggle between the two 9v batteries in the warp. This way.. if your battery died on the field.. all you have to do is flip a switch. Run the positive and negative wires on the original connector to the power input for the siwtch. Then connect the two battery connectors to the load sides of the switch! WOOT! now you have it.. a dual battery switchable powersupply! I'm gonna do it tomorra! Let me know if you guys think this will work. Feel free to torch the idea if you don't think it will. Hope someone else uses my idea thats why I posted it

It's been done many times before. I believe there are some pic threads on AO showing how to set one up.

Preesh.. I think I already know how I'm gonna do it.. just wasn't sure if it had been done. Thanks for the response,
well.. I searched and couldn't findanything other than making it run parallel to increase run time. I was just looking to switch between 9v.. but anyhoo... I'll get some pics up of my setup when completed

A much better idea is to run 2 9 volts in series for a total of 18 volts. Then go to radio shack and get 2 12 volts regulators for like $1 each. Install the regulators in parallel in the same cavity in the warp as the motor.

Then install a powerswitch in the side of the warp so you have the ability to turn it off.

this is by far the best Warp setup that I have seen. I use this setup myself on my warp.

It's very easy to do and you get WAY more life out of your batteries because you can run them lower than you could if you were running 1 battery. Trust me on this one. Stick some regulators in there.

Frausty, let me know how it goes. I'm considering getting a warp feed. My halo crapped out once to offen, and I wanna know how well the warp works. Post pics and directions when yur done.

Vertices... that sounds like a good idea..but I think I'm gonna stick with my setup. Thanks for the input though.. no doubt that would definately be more efficient. I already hooked it up the way I said I was gonna though .

Jedi.. I'll post some pics when I can. I got it completed yet I had no camera to take pics while I was wiring it. The way I did it requires removing some plastic on the warp body (I think it was just re-inforcement plastic) to mount the switch. Like I said.. I'll post some pics.. and it works great. I 'll try to get the part numbers of the components I bought as well so you'll have a list. Vertices' idea sounds like itd take more advantage of the two batteries but I don't need it runnign at 12 volts since I'm not running an elctro I don't really need it spinning that fast.

            I'm so excited!!

I have the exact same thing you described in my warp. But just to let you know, don't leave the batteries in the warp even with the switch off, it drained mine and it ruined a day.

Other than that, I like it, not as much for the backup battery as the on-off. No more accidental spins.

Ok.. heres the only pic I could get of the warp (My work was giving me hell about having the camera inside BAHHH)

The plastic on the warp that I removed I can't really point it out because I don't have software at work that'll let me put arrows in. If you look closely at where the switch is mounted you'll know what I removed. It took about 15 minutes to remove the plastic since I didn't have a dremel. I used very sharp wire cutters to cut the plastic off, then sanded the remains to make it flat. Then I drilled a hole 4mm in the side to mounth the switch. I used a rubber toggle switch cover that has an o-ring (too make sure no paint would get in) Thats it. Here's some pics of my completed warp setup!
