Using a warp adaptor to convert standard feed to powerfeed???

I see that you can pick up standard feed automags on ebay for nothing ($160) or so. Yet power feed mags in similar condition go for about $100 more. Has anyone tried cutting their standard feed tube down and installing a warp feed adaptor to make a geri rigged powerfeed? If so, how did it work and how does it compare to the actual powerfeed mag performance?

u cant make a power feed out of a standerd feed by cutting it down a warp on a powerfeed goes up through the bottom of the feed

I don't care about the warp...

I'm not trying to make a warp fed marker, but rather converting a standard feed to a warp feed through the use of a warp feed adaptor like the one pictured. Basically, I'd cut the standard feed down and install the warp feed adaptor upside down and then connecting my adjustable elbow to the warp feed adaptor.

Then you would be making a POWERFEED not a warpfeed.

Exactly. The topic of this thread is "Using a warp adaptor to convert standard feed to powerfeed???"

I think they missed your point

The only time a warp feed was mentioned was in refrence to the type of adaptor, this is what happens when you skim through a post. I had the same idea as well, then I bought a powerfeed.

Ask around though because pro team used to make an aftermarket powerfeed adaptor for a standard mag. looked just like the ptp warp adapdor with more for the elbow to bite into.

LOL, sorry just laughing at people who don't read completely.

On the track of your post. This would make it more like a center powerfed mag. This could cause some blowback if you cut the standard feed tube down. When you use the warp 90* adapter, the only way to get you hopper to sit upright would be have the 90 direct back toward the gun body pointing up. Then attach your elbow to that.. the the hopper to the elbo. You're looking at about another 2 inches of height added to your current hoppers location, and more center than off to one side.

Try it out.. before I bought one, I'd check at your field and see if someone would let you use their adapter during down time to try it out?? Peeeaaasssccchhhh

                blowback

I was thinking that the warp feed 90 degree adaptor would eliminate the blowback just like a powerfeed does. Any reason why it wouldn't with a cut down standard feed?

BTW, what does a 90 degree warp adaptor cost anyways?

Go to the AGD store and pick up a blemished hopper right PF body for $50.

The blemish is only slight cosmetic boo-boos, all other construction is to AGD specs. It will save you some headache and cutting down tubing.

                    so...

Would a warp feed work with well with a cut down standard feed body? The $50 PF bodies sold out

                      I just thought of something...

If you don't cut your standard feed tube down too short and then put the warp adaptor on, then you'd be able to sight down the top of the marker and barrel...an added benefit.

I wish I could say this was my original idea, but I happened upon AGD's high rise powerfeed body in the attic sale and realized that the warp adaptor could make a similar power feed.

cut the feed tube down so that the collar of the adapter is just above the blow back hole on the feed tube. then you wont have any problems from blow back, the problem you will have is that your gonna need to put an elbow on top off that, so by the time you connect your feeder its gonna stand 6 inches above your head! why do you feel you need to do this in the first place? the classic body will feed just fine, with a good loader.

                          chopping paint...

Because last time I played, I chopped paint about once out of every 100 balls. I guess I could have been short stroking it, but I'm not sure. I guess I wouldn't recognize a short stroke as I haven't shot a mag that much.

most people have to 'learn' to shoot a mag, thats why so many people say they are blenders. if you take the time to learn the trigger you will be very happy. when you chop does the valve make a wierd short hissing type noise? thats a short stroke. what type of loader are you using? id give it a little while before you do any major surgery!
