    Trigger to sear rod gap...

    Hello,

I have an older Minimag that I bought used. When I gas it up the sear rod presses all the way onto the trigger. The manual states that there should be 1/16 of an inch clearance. The gun shoots fine but I am curious as to haw to adjust it. I have heard alot of you say that you shouldn't mess with the sear rod length, but how do you adjust it without shorting the rod?

You can heat up the trigger rod and screw it in with pliers. If you have dial calipers, set the length to 1.980"

The key thing is to make sure there is a gap inbetween the back of the trigger and the trigger rod when it's gassed up.

Thank you very much!!!!! That helps me very much. I did it with the gun gassed up and the rod presses into the trigger. I will try a new sear when I get them, I have two coming from parts kits I bought on-line.

Hate to burst your bubble, but the sear does not come in a parts kit. Let me know if you need one.
