    help with my retro

i have a retro valve in my minimag. i also have a pure energy tank. when i turn the air on it just keeps on hissing out. i dont know if maybe the valve needs more air pressure to work right or what. maybe soemone could tell me what tank they use with their retro or something of that sort.

Where does the air leak out? If it is down the barrel, try this:
    1) Screw your tank in faster
    2) Hold the trigger down when you gas it up

It shouldn't be, unless you changed the bolt. But.......the powertube spacer is your most likely problem. I bought a brand new retro and put in a superbolt before firing it once. It leaked like a sieve down the barrel. It can stock with a .225 spacer. I put the shorter one in(.220) and it works great. It sometimes hisses alittle so I might have to go with a .215 spacer but it works fine now so I will wait to change it again. Did you buy it new? If not you need to go to Airgun.com to get the instructions on how to set it up.

i bought a whole gun used with the valve in it. the guy said he only had it do it once to him with his adjustable tank... had it turned down too much. but ive tried 2 tanks on there and it did it both times. it does hvae a phase II bolt on it.

You might want to try holding the bolt back with a stick or something. as you screw in your tank. My retro-mini does something that sounds simillar when I use the screw in tank, but with my flatline and its on/off valve it doesn't.

Still think spacer might be it. But the kit is hard to come by and pricey, 17 bucks for 6 brass spacers and a PT o-ring. Worked for me.

Have you tried holding the trigger until you get the tank screwed in all the way? This keeps the on/off closed until its completely pressurized.. then when you let go.. the sear catches the bolt due to the pressure on the on/off pin.
