    oil in barrel-Bad?

I know people say not get get oil in your barrel, but why is it bad? It might reduce friction on the ball and i don't see any disadvantages in that.

Because the oil never gets evenly distributed in the barrel. It creates points where there is less friction than in other areas, which puts some akward spins on the ball causing it to tail off in every direction once it leaves the barrel. It's basically like having a barrel full of paint from broken and chopped balls. Accuracy goes down the tube.

I use a few drops of rainx and then a 12 gauge shotgun cleaner to clean the barrel. On those rare occassions when I get a break, I turn the gun upside down so no ball feed and shoot a few shots through and you are good to go. If you have a barrel with holes in it, just put your hand over the end of the barrel and shoot a few more to blow the holes out... I have never had any problems with this method. Not sure about gun oil though...

          Rainx works

If your looking for a way to shoot through a ball beak then rainx is the way to go.

Try this, oil up your valve (5 to 10 drops), then dry fire the gun 20 or so times with the barrel on. Now shoot some paint. Hmm, now clean the inside of the barrel real good, with hot, soapy water and dry thoroughly. Shoot some more paint. See the difference? Now you'll understand why the barrel shoud be dry.

RainX, I gotta try that one! Sounds like a neat trick. Thanks.
