    spyder xtra problem

my little brother has a spyder xtra that has been giving him some problems. i have tried to get help on the kingman forum and even called the kingman techs but no one seesm to be able to help and few want to help. so i have come to my trusty AO friends for help. yeah i know its a spyder but my brother is a good paintballer who is getting really depressed because of how he is being treated and i know that automag users are the best so who else should i ask?

the problem is that while he is playing sometimes the gun wont recock. it comes half way or 3/4 of the way back and wont go all the way. he has to pull it back himself. it also has a tendency to bust a ball in the barrel when this happens and it usually occurs when he draws the gun up from a lowered position to shoot. we have oiled everything, tightened everything, all o-rings are good, all parts are installed correctly, as of yet he have not been able to check the spring tension (a new spring set is being ordered), we are going to check the velocity of its shooting, the tank is full but the techs said that it might be too cold and i seriously doubt that the tank is cold enough to cause this problem. its freaking hot were we are in texas and even my mag running on CO2 shoots perfectly. so any ideas as to what the problem might be? thanks for any help that you can give me. my brother needs it.

    Since you didn't mention a remote, I will presume it's a tank-on gun.

When you point any Co2 system down, nothing but liquid will come out of the valve. What is happening to your little bros gun, is that it is full of liquid Co2 and it's freezing things tight. Your Texas weather quickly clears the freeze, so it just seems like the gun itself is messing up. Put an expansion chamber on there, instead of that gas through, and that should clear it up.

ARMY thanks for the tip.....my bro has been wanting to get an expansion chamber so maybe that will do the trick. i just dont want him to get depressed to the point that he decides to give up on paintball all together. i know how frustrating it is when this sort of stuff happens. and he tends to take it pretty hard when his gear messes up. neither of us make that much in the way of income and we need our gear to work at its best cause its a big investment. i make a little more than my bro so i went for a mag and he went for the spyder. but once again thanks. and its good to see that there are some other C.P.P.A. members among the ranks of AO.

To test that try ti dryfire the gun holding it pointed directy up. If you don't have any problems.. try shooting it straight down and see if it inflicts this hiccup. If so, as Army stated an expansion chamber should clear that up. Or get an Anti-siphon system install on his tank and have it matched to his ASA.
