    68 Mag, Velocity Dropoff

Anytime i start shooting rapidly i get velocity drop off, it seems like the reg. is not recharging fast enough. I thought it was do to Co2, but i'm still having the same problem when i switched to Nitro. Also, I did not have the dropcradle when i was running Co2, so i dont think thats the problem. Anyone have the same problem and was able to fix it without haing to going to a retro valve?

one thing that kinda helps is a tourney lock so your velocity nut doesnt wiggle loose and make you lose fps. won't help with drop off from rapid fire though. also did you mess with your sear rod? if so you might be starving your mag.

reg seat..... any one else think so??? in the video tom says a dirty regulator piston can cause velocity problems so try cleaning that

There is usually a simple explaination. Hopefully we can logically figure it out.

        - Are you using an expansion chamber? If so, bypass it if using air.

        - A dirty regulator usually causes unstable velocity - probably not this.

        - A bad reg seat usually causes high velocity not lower velocity.

        - the velocity nut typically doesn't back out causing the velocity to drop. If it did then the velocity would always be low not just when rapid firing.

        - The trigger rod out of adjustment is a possibility.

        - Check your on/off assembly and make sure its clean.

        - Check your bolt spring length. A simple bolt stick problem can seem like a velocity drop off problem when it first starts happening.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

I think its fixed. my Reg. Seat was backwards. i didnt have much time to test it out, but it seemed to work ok. Thank you all. Ill have more of a chance to test it at the field.
