    Air america Apocalypse problems.

I have an air amarica apoc 45/68 tank. Recently I had it filled to 3k. When I turned the tank on, my macroline blew. (not the hose, the fitting. (the "collet" (SP?) shot off never to be found.) I didn't think that it was a reall problem, just turn down the reg and try again.

I turned the reg down as far as I could, and blew another macro fitting. I don't have any stainless line right now, otherwise I'd try it, but I am nervous that my reg might be bad on my tank.

    Anyone have problems like this?

    Help,

The reg. valve pin is probably not sealing on the seat.

Take it the reg off by unscrewing the four allen head bolts holding it on. Pull off the reg. and look at the pin. It should be the type that has a taper head that contacts the seat. The seat should be clear/white and firmly held in place in the regulator body. Check both the pin and the seat to make sure they aren't scratched or have dirt on them. Also, make sure the pin hasn't been bent. Reassemble it making sure to center the end of the pin in the center of the piston.

Back out the reg. adjusting nut to the point that it's not compressing the spring pack. Then tighten it 2 revolutions. Turn it on and it should be fine unless you need to replace the seat or pin.

Do you have an output gage on the Apoc?
