    Help with Flatline

Ok, heres the deal. I was installing lvl 10 yesterday, no problem. I ran out of air. Well, went to my local shop to refill...tank doesnt hold air. At all. We took it all apart, found some metal shavings (is that normal?), cleaned everything back up, nothing. I have the tank turned off, so it seems like it is blowing right by the on/off knob. we checked those seals, they seem to be fine. We regreased it all, same thing. Blows through, whether it is on or off. I know I am going to have to send it in, just wondering if anyone on this forum has ever experienced it with the Flatline. I kinda wanna know what is wrong, before I send it in.

Your on/off o-ring probably cracked. It's a simple fix if you have a dental pick and a new o-ring. Completely degas the system. Unscrew the on/off knob from the on/off shaft. Pull out the shaft and set it aside. You'll see a little brass piece with a curved front in the hole leading to the tank. Hold the tank upside down and shake it and that little piece should fall out. Now you'll see a brass stem sticking out from the hole and tucked back in that hole is the on/off o-ring. Shine some light in there so you can see the o-ring once you get ahold of it with your dental pick and carefully hook the o-ring with the pic and pull it out.

Drop in the new o-ring and put the brass on/off piece back in, push the shaft back in and screw the on/off knob back on.

Does the little stem that sticks out from the hole in the reg. going to the tank have spring tension on it? As in, can you push down on it with an allen wrench and will it spring back?

Just because the o-ring "looks fine" doesn't mean it is. Replace it anyway. If the system leaks with the on/off in the off position, then the only problem can be that the o-ring is bad, or the on/off brass piece isn't holding the o-ring in place correctly.
