retro shooting on pull and release!

i need some help. just got my retro yesterday. once in a while it shoots on the pull and release. it only seems to do it in rapid fire, but if i let it sit for a couple seconds it wont do it. i have a smart parts max flo set to 700 psi. one more thing, the sear that comes w/ the valve is it the same as the stock one because i didnt put th one in that came w/ the retro.

Is your field strip screw tight? Use the allen wrench to tighten it all the way, hand tight usually isnt tight enough and causes more then 1 shot to be fired on a trigger pull.

          Reto

I believe the sear that comes with the retro is different than the stock one otherwise they wouldn't include one. Try swapping them and see what happens.

i would but i cant seem to get that little pin out that ataches the trigger rod to the sear.

You don't have to take the trigger rod off the sear to change the sear.

Remove the trigger frame from the body rail. Remove the body from the rail. You only need to pull the sear pin out of the rail assembly and the sear assembly will come with it (complete with trigger rod). Now, put the new sear assembly in using the pin that came out if you don't have a new one.

The sear assembly on the retro valve is the same as the standard valve. The original sear assembly should work unless it is worn.

Check to see that you're trigger rod has about 1/16 of an inch clearance between it and the trigger when the gun is ready to fire and the trigger is full forward.

Hopefully you find the problem. The retro valve is a great addition to a mag.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

Most likely what you're getting is the benefit of the RT trigger, aka, the sweet spot. Regarding the sears, the sear that comes on newer (level 7?) mag's is the exact same sear that comes with the retro valve. The reason they give you the new sear is to replace the older ones that were made out of a softer metal.

The retro valve sear and the sear that comes stock on classic mags are exactly the same.

Just fixed a gun that had this problem the other day. The main cause was that it had too short of an on/off pin. Also, the sear was dragging on the rail because the sear axle pin was too tight of a fit in the rail and it wasn't seating itself fully in the rail so it would get put in and at a bit of an angle it would rub on the rail.

First thing I would do though, is try a longer on/off pin.

i think it might be the on/off pin. where do i get a longer one?

I had this problem with my classic valve. It turned out that my on/off pin was bent because i messed with the trigger rod. I just replaced it and it seemed to work fine.

You can call up AGD, tell the problem and order some longer on/off pins.
