    Mystery Barrel

    Hi
This barrel came with my Mag. I have spoken to a few people about it, but no one can tell me who made it. It appears to be turned from stainless steel (you can see small turn marks in the outer surface). It is 9" long from end to end and is fairly heavy. Any ideas!
Also how is barrel length measured? is it from end to end out of the marker, or is it the length of barrel exposed once fitted to the marker?

DAMN! I used to have that barrel before I sold my mag, think they were a special edition. Weighed a damn tonne, but it was a nice tight barrel.

Thats a slightly different one, if you look at yours it has a lot more holes, and they are smaller.

There seems to be a lot more porting on the taso ones I've seen. This one only has four rows of three 5mm holes. But it is heavy as ciaran.mooney said. But it is nice to use. Now to my other question, is it a 9" -end to end, or is it a 6" -exposed section when fitted to the Mag?
This is not the barrel I have have used that much, I prefer the Jacko-Infinity Series 14" (end to end).
Although the Taso does look nicer.
Thanks to all for your help.

Oh now i remember. The person that I bought my mag off said (and the owner before him) that it was a special edition smartparts barrel.

That design originated in the 1990s in the UK, originally made for Bad Company back then but ripped off later on, (its not a taso.)

Hi Bad Dave, what you say would fit in with the mags age and I am based in the UK. Any idea who made it for Bad Company?
No real need to know, just curious about the set-up I have.

No Idea mate but Steve Mattacott once said that someone made him that barrel specially, whether that is BS or not I don't know?

That's a DAC 'Tulip' barrel, from the UK. DAC also made the first generation of Bob Long "Longshot" barrels.

I have one. I bought it in the mid 90's. It was called an "AKA barrel". This was before the current company AKA was in business. I still use mine on my back-up retro as it is has been a solid performer for many years.
