    a strange question about air....

Ok, i want to convice my main boss(CEO of the complex my paitnball is run on--im the manager of PB) that we should get a N2 fillstation setup. we talked to the Machine and Welding guy who brings us our Co2, and he gave us prices on the bulk N2 tanks, but here is what i need to know

if we are getting 1x 2000psi tank(about the size of a 50lbs CO2 tank) and 2x 6000psi tanks(about the size ofa 75lbs CO2 tank), how many 3000psi(yes, only 3000psi) fills can i expect to get with, say, a 68ci tank? i know that there are many sizes out there, but lets assume they are all 68ci. how amny fills am i talking before i cant fill to 3000 anymore? 100? 200? 50? 500?

    thanks for he help!

not sure if this will help, but with a large scuba tank you could probably get around 20-25 fills out of a 68ci 3000psi tank. I dont know the exact sizes of bulk n2 tanks though. . . An easy way to find out is to find out how many cubic inches YOUR n2 tanks are , devide 68 into that and multiply by 2. That should give you the number of fills, the reason you multiply by 2 is because the psi of your larger tanks are 6000psi not 3000psi and with the 2000psi tank, multiply by 2/3s. I think that should give you an alright estimate.

well, i dont remember my stuff too well, and they didnt cover it too much, but at PTI, i think i remember Bob saying that air doesnt work that way. that if, for example, i have a 68ci tank at 6000psi, i wont be able to fill two different 68ci tanks to 3000psi. maybe im wrong, but i dont think thats how it works

It would probobly be better in the long run to spend 5 grand or so on a good air compresser...
