Autococker Question - Got A sinner here

Okay, so my cousin came over tonight and he bought himself an autococker off of ebay. It was brand new and in the packaging, he's put about 300 rounds through it, but we were out back and he seems to be having an air flow problem.

He was using C02, so I hooked my nitro up, and that didn't help.

We'd pull the trigger and sometimes it would shoot with air, other times it would have no power behind the ball and basically no air.

So we basically figured out 2 trigger pulls = 1 shot/sometimes.

He said he had no problems with the first 300 rounds and now problems came about.

We're going out paintball this sunday and I'd like to get it fix by then.

If this at all makes any sense to you guys, post a link to a good autococker site, manual, or other useful info.

I'll check this post back later tonight or tomorrow.

did you guys by any chance take out the bolt?

you might have put it in upside down.. make sure the hole in the front is facing down.

The solution to your problem is sell the cocker and buy a mag. Makes you wonder why they sold the cocker in the first place, hmm, I'd never sell my mag, best gun around!!!

bad timing

it sounds like the events (releasing the hammer, and actuating the 4-way) are too close together. I can't really say without the gun infront of me. Do a search for Ravi paintball, he's got a great cocker page and explanations on timing.

I really thought the people on this forum were above the petty PBC marker bashing crap. oh well....

go to ww.paintballravi.com and follow the instructions for re-timing the gun. It sounds like it was timed too close and the timing slipped. It also could be that the velocity adjuster is backed too far out or the cocking rod isn't screwed in all the way. Check both first.

When you first fire a cocker after gassing it up no air comes out of the bolt because it's cocking it or something, after that it should fire every time. If you shortstroke it, it seems to need to recock so your next shot won't have any air come out of the bolt. I've seen someone shotstroke ten times in a row; if someone's never fired a cocker, than this is likely the culprit. Heck, I shortstroke a lot when I rip on the trigger carelessly and I've practiced with this thing. Otherwise, it could be very out of time or just somewhat out of time and that makes it easier to shortstroke. Also, sometimes when you fire too carefully or slowly you'll shortrsoke too. I personally really like the feel of a cocker's trigger, but it is hard to learn, especially if it's mis-timed. I also have that problem when I'm low on co2 or nitro, btw. I'm a bit of a cocker newbie, but I hope this helped anyway, and I do know exactly what you're describing. Also, if you don't have anti-siphon co2 on it (or nitro, of course) get it. Regular co2 on cockers can be ugly.
