I am currently instaling a level 10 in a minimag I have had since 1994. The problem i am having is getting the velocity above 270 fps without venting out of the back of the gun. I am using the #1 1/2 carrier (as the #2 causes the gun to leak down the barrel) along with the shortest spring and two shims.The gun is being run on compressed air. Any suggestions are appreciated.

try 800-850 input to the gun? (if you want it softer on paint, put the cut spring on there.) -
Well if it's hasn't been done already, I'm thinking that maybe the piston in the reg needs to be replaced...
Since the LVL 10 needs a higher input pressure and your piston has already seen many years of use.
