    velocity consistancy

when i had my 'mags (68 p/f, and e-mag) the velocity consistancy was horrible. and i'm usin a nito duck 68/4500. i've also tried a crossfire 88/3k, same thing.
i even tried a pmi reg on my 68 and it still was horrible. i cleaned everything, oiled, did the whole schpeal, nothing worked. my velocity would go from 250-290???
i did the same w/ my e-mag only w/ no pmi reg. cleaned it etc... why is it doing this???

take apart the valve. unscrew the back part..the reg.
clean the reg seat. better yet, get a new one.
anything to do with velocity will be from that part. or the spring pack

Replace the reg seat. You shouldn't pull the two halves of the valve apart when it isn't absolutly necessary. Every time you do so the reg seat will get a little worse. Technically it should be changed every time the two halve are taken apart, but noone does this.

                  Paint to barrel match

You don't mention if you have good paint to barrel match, but a poor fit can effect consistency.

Okay, there's more than one thing that can affect velocity on a mag.

                    1. Bad paint. The more consistent paint is in size and bounce tests, the more consistent it will be.

                    2. Make sure to grease your spring pack and piston o-ring with common automotive grease. Also clean the face of the reg piston and apply a common anti seize compound on the threads of the regulator nut.

                    3. As the others say, replace your reg seat and do not unscrew the halves until you notice your velocity problems coming back.
"If everything is under control your not moving fast enough."
