What needs sealing when powder coating??

I know someone asked this a little earlier, but they never got an answer that I know of. I heard that the part where the baody hits the rail needs to be taped off. Is that on the body AND the rail, or just the Rail. Also, the little holes in the rail for the sear and what not; do those need to be taped too, and if so, on the top of the rail and the bottom or what. If anyone has any info, please post. Pics would be really helpful, but I doubt anyone has the time. Thanks.

Painting in between the body rail, and where the grip frame meets can slightly throw off tolerances and cause undesired opertation (aka, scewed up mag!). Make sure you mask off where the body and body rail meet, where the grip frame and body rail meet, and maybe where the valve sits in the body rail. Mask off the inside of the body as well.

May be more info you need before getting your Mag powdercoated, so just consider this a 'useful up'

I don't know about powdercoating, but I had my mag nickle plated and they (PK Selectives) plated the whole rail inside and out and it works just as well as before I had the work done.

I don't believe it would be that big of a tolerance issue because you're putting a layer of powdercoat on while taking the original ano off (maybe??? I don't know), so it would still have almost the same tolerances as before.
