    TL63 Blade Manuel Mode

Does anyone have problems using this trigger in Manuel? I was told I would, but it seems to work fine. I bought mine at IAO.

I've heard a few people having problems with the blade trigger and Manual, and i saw webbie post something about blades not working with manual.

Yep mine doesn't fire in manual mode, talking to manike it seems I need to lenghen my sear rod. I assume to do this I need to remove the sear assembly???

        Anyone got any tips?

People are probably going to tell you not to do it, because playing with the sear's trigger rod length without knowing what you're doing is a common way people try and improve their mag's trigger and end up messing it up. You have to make sure there's a small gap between the rod and the trigger -- if they're touching at rest you're most likely in for trouble.

That said, I could see how it might need adjustment for a different trigger, so I don't think you would be amiss by changing its length. I'm guessing that the rod is too short because the new trigger doesn't sit quite as far back as the old one: hence when you pull it in manual it doesn't hit the trigger rod until there's not enough pull length left for it to push the sear far enough to fire.

If this is the case, what you can do is take your sear out and lengthen the rod slightly so that when at rest it sits just behind the trigger. I can't remember how large the gap between rod and trigger is supposed to be, but I'm don't think it needs to be more than a couple mm. If you do a search you'll probably find where BlackVCG or someone posted the appropriate distance.

EDIT: Ok, I see a distance of 1/16" (or about 1.6 mm) posted here by a_malfunction

Send a PM to Timmy63 on this forum and he'll sell one to you. I believe they are $35.

Mine works in manual... but the trigger rod adjustment fixed my unaligned fire points that I posted about last week. It was weird... in hybrid if you tap the trigger it fires and if you continue to squeeze... it fires again. Adjusting the rod fixed that.

ok probably a daft question but who do you adjust the sear rod length?

                      Cheers,

                      Paul.

With two pairs of pliers and some loctite

When I adjusted mine, I marked on the rod the spot it was screwed into before I adjusted, unscrewed the rod entirely, cleaned the threads, put some loctite on the threads, screwed it back to the previously marked position, and then did the adjustments from there.

You'll need the pliers to get the rod loose at first, you may need a lighter as well to apply some heat to the threads. It isn't easy to get them loose.

Make sure you use a fairly durable loctite when you put the rod back on, though, because if it isn't really solid, then your trigger rod can come loose and back out on you, which really isn't a pleasant experience.
