Let me ask you, if you hold your trigger all teh way forward with teh gun gassed up, does teh trigger rod push against it? There should be a gap between the trigger and the rod. If you pull the trigger slowley, it should fire before the trigger is all the way back.

To get it to 1.985 you need dial calipers.

Sears, home depot etc should have them. As long as you have those 2 gaps in your trigger though it should work.

                      thank you

does this sound like it could be the problem: my trigger rod was about a little less than a quarter of an inch short. Thank you for helping me out, i gotta get my tank gassed up and make sure i fixed it tommorrow.

                          2 gaps?

i don't know what you mean by 2 gaps, but i adjusted it to 1.985 with a pair of dial calpiers like you said and then i gassed it up and it worked! i think i do know which gaps, i know that when the gun is together, the rod isn't actually touching it if i'm not pulling the trigger. but, i fixed it and i'm giving you credit for telling me how to.

Is the 1st measurement the length of the pin? What is the 2nd measurement?
