    Tank leaking around reg...

my Pure Energy 68/45K tank has a small leak around reg where it attaches to the tank. it leaks from 45K to 3K in like 3 hrs, but then the leak will slow. Any suggestions on a possible fix for this? Can I take the reg out and use teflon tape on the threads? I know it comes from factory with some type of black stuff on the threads.

If it is leaking from the threads, the reg needs to be removed, loctite 545 or 592 has to be used on it, and it needs to be reattached, with I think somthing like 80lbs of torque. Your probably better off having a shop, or scuba store do this.

wow thats the most scientific thing I've ever heard lol j/k Jay, Hows Rizzen doing? No dont try to put teflon around the reg, its not made to hold that much pressure.Go to a hardware store or somethin, and get the strongest Locktight you can get.I dont really suggest you taking the tank reg off....Just send it into PMI and they will charge you like 20 bux to fix it.And get it done "professionally".just my oppinion.

            271 is the thread locker.
545, and 592 are phnumatic line sealents, which are fairly easy to break, unlike the red(271) which will destory your threads next time you need to remove the reg. The reg is not loctited, on, it is held on by alot of torque.

i would't screw around with this myself if i where you, get it done "profesonally" because if it isn't put on corrcetly then the air pressure inside the tank could shoot the reg off or something stupid like that. Get some profesional to take it off and put it back on the correct way so you won't get hurt

Cut it off with a hacksaw, then epoxy it back on. Be sure to use plenty of epoxy, you don't want it to leak. Now for the secret. Use ALOT I mean ALOT, like 3 big roles of ductape on your tank. Now the tank is good as new, and your all set.

Disclaimer: This was a joke, if you actually do it i'm not responsible and you should probably be killed for your stupidity.
