Standard AIR valves are good for about 12 shots per second without shoot down. The biggest problem with a standard valve is the possibility of short stroking due to slower recharge rate. With an emag frame, you don't need to worry about short stroking. If you are never going to shoot continuous strings of 14 shots per second, I wouldn't worry about paying $250 - $300 for a new retro valve.

thanks all
Thanks PyRo and AThomas
I saw an RT valve on Ebay (not sure where the rest of the marker went), but lost it when the other person did the "buy it now" option for $185.00. (I was at $112.00)
I don't think I'm squeezing off 14 bps when I play (I don't think my fingers can pull even 6), and since we can't fire in any other mode other than 1-ball-per-trigger-pull out here in Calif (at least the field I usually play at) it probably won't matter if I am using the standard or RT mechanism.
Anyone have pics of their valves? Just curious to see it.
thanks all

Check out the manuals:
These should show some of the differences in the air passages and construction.Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.Comment
