    Problamatic "Ph"oamie

I'm on my third foamie in my LX bolt. I'm using Lock-tite brand quick-tite. It is just like super glue. I have asked about this before and got the "suuper glue is super glue" response. Anyone else finding foamies aggrivating?

Are you FULLY cleaning off the surface the foamie glues to and then using alcohol to clean it off? If you don't get the old glue and rubber off, it won't bond properly. I've yet to have a LVL X foamie come off and I use the Loctite 404 Instant Adhesive (I've had to take off the foamies to tap out the bolt pin that was backing out and loctite it).

It helps if you use a hard o-ring pick of some sort and scratch up the surface of the bolt so that it will give more area for the glue to flow into and create a stronger bond. Make sure you're getting glue on the entire surface of the foamie and that both the bolt and foamie are cleaned with alcohol before bonding.

I knew I could count on one of AO's mods to help me out.
No...I have not been cleaning the bolt face or foamie with alcohol. Scratching the face of the bolt is something else I have not tried. I have been removing all the old foamie bits though. The longer I hang around here...the more I learn. Thanks Black!

Just a quick question I might add in here, would a cyanoacrylate glue work in this case? They bond instantly to most plastics, woods, metals, etc and are very strong, but, it never hurts to ask.

Maybe telefragged, but remember it may eat away at rubber, who knows. I put superglue on a foam ball to glue a piece back and the freaking glue put a hole in the ball, like acid. I think it will work, but check with someone who knows for sure.

          And Black, whats this about?

(I've had to take off the foamies to tap out the bolt pin that was backing out and loctite it).
Should we have to watch out for that? Is it something common because if it does back out, thats going to create some venting problems. And do you know why yours did that?

BTW, I took my level 10 to the field and only one or 2 guys have heard about it. Well, now about 8 or 9 more (the guys that count, veterans) know about the level10, and 3 guys my age were really impressed. The best player out of those who shoots an angel said that he might look at Mags again. He also asked me this "Have they improved these things at all lately? are they more accurate now? And I was like uhh yeah it shoots perfectly...and he went on to say "I used to shoot a thousand shots at one guy before I got a hit". I was thinking yeah, man, you shoot a thousand before you get a hit on someone with that angel anyway. He shot at least a hundred on one guy before he hit him. He was a very good player though, I wish I played against him to get a chance to take him DOWN, haha.

I was also playing CS and yet another guy said he has a hatred for Mags but Level 10 is changing his mind about that...I think Mags are coming back...

The Loctite 404 Instant Adhesive is cyanoacrylate. I'm assuming that's what you're using, Doobie.
