A5 is a bit overpriced to be sure

The A5 is a bit overpriced when you compare it to a Model98.

The A5 functions the same as a Model98 as far as performance is concerned, so what do you get for the $200 price difference?

Cyclone Feed system: Works fine, but you could get the same thing for about $50 with a viewloader. It also is incompatible with any other hopper, so better not lose or break that stock hopper or you are going to be feeding paint in by hand until that replacement hopper comes in the mail.

Quick Strip function: If there is one ***** about the Model 98 is that it is a bit of a hassle to take apart and put back togethor compared with pretty much any other gun in its price range, but thats a lot of extra money to spend for a quick strip system.

Looks like a real gun. Quite frankly I see this as a giant negative, but there are plenty of paintball players that think otherwise. I DON'T EVEN WANT TO GET INTO THAT DEBATE,SO PLEASE LETS MOVE ON.

Integrated vertical bottle adapter. This is a real plus over the Model98. If you've ever tried to install one on a M98 you know what I mean. Approxiametely 4 out of 5 Vert adapters for the m98 turn out to be a giant hemmoriod of an installation. You just hope and pray that you are the 1 in 5 that gets an easy install.

Takes old style Tippman barrels. This is going to be a headache for a while until barrel manufacturers see enough A5 owners to bother cranking up that style of barrel production. Until there are a lot of aftermarket parts (including barrels) for the A5, it makes it a less desirable gun to own. See the catch 22 on that one?

Plastic. This is not as big a minus as you might think. Metal would definitely be preferable, but a WHOLE bunch of guns are being made with this type of plastic and its proven to be pretty durable (NOT INDESTRUCTABLE). This argument is kinda a wash, UNLESS as a consumer you refuse to buy something that involves that much plastic. That is a very valid argument.

The A5 and the Model98 are very well built guns from an excellent company, but the A5 is not quite worth the price difference of $200.

Please do not waste my time, if you want to trade or buy then do so. Don't tell me to hold something for you or trade 2weeks of emails on a gun trade only to change your mind.

I am willing to act as 3rd party in trades.

    Thank You

I agree with everything you said, but remember that its directed towards newbs, and some people would probably pay even MORE for a marker that looks like a gun

I would pay more for a marker that didn't...
