    Getting minimag, most basic upgrades?

I am getting a minimag soon and I plan to get the level 10 mod and the retro valve. Are there any more upgrades (besides barrel) that I need to know about? Since I am skimping on money, which upgrade should I go with first (not barrel)?

Do you think going with a minimag stock with new barrel and air system would be okay until I can get other things? Because thats all I believe I can get for now if I buy a minimag because of my limited money amount I am afraid of short stroking though, is that a serious problem that I shouldn't consider even buying a minimag until I have enough money to buy a retro valve? I might have to go with air/barrel/stock minimag for up to 6 monthes, unless it isnt worth it.

What's a good priced barrel too

    Thanks for everything

AGD stock barrels are a lot better than most ppl think. No, you should not have any short stroking problems on a properly set valve(you might have to get used to the trigger). I'd get an Iframe, very good upgrade indeed. Iframe/level 10/Retro Valve are serious long term upgrades but a properly set stock minimag will definitly run with the big boys IMO.

The stock minimag is a great gun, you will have no problem with short-storking, you may need to fire it.. um, 500 shots to get used to it but you won't have any problems, And you certainly do not need a retro valve to be able to fire a mag, thats definetly overreacting. I'm sure that 65% of the people on these boards are shooting a stock AIR valve. I would recomend after a berral getting level 10 then an I-frame then later if you still want to getting a retro valve.

Second, a good priced tournament grade berral that I like is the all american, i don't know what the current price is but it is very accurate and quiet too.
Minimag body, valve: CF05240, gas-thru grip, all-american, lvl 10, tourney velocity adj., flatline 68/3000 nitro FL01255
      SOON: intelliframe/medusa

custom spyder, with every part replaced but they valve and body.

Yep, just bought my mag and that's been my upgrading scheme.

Just got lvl 10 (which is awesome btw) gonna get intelliframe this weekend, and then retro in 2-4 weeks. UNless you have a blade/double trigger, I don't think retro is going to be working at full potential.

first thing I'd suggest is a motorized hopper (a revvy would be fine). After that, barrel, lvl 10, intelliframe (or z-grip), retro valve is a good progression. Beyond this, air systems, multi-bore barrels and cosmetics are common upgrades
