    level 10 venting

    ive just installed a level 10 and cranked up the velocity for 280fps and had some venting out the back ... help!!

          If your mag is an older standard mag, then it may have to have a new regulator assembly installed.
          Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

              Which spring and carrier are you using? You might need the next larger carrier or the next lighter spring.

                  Tramp is on the right track. Go to the next shorter spring...Tell us what happened then.

                  And look for any further answers where I moved this to tech forum!

                          im still at work so i havent tried these suggestions yet ... but to answer your q`s ... my tank is preset ... the spring is the one with the piece cut out ... and the carrier is the one with one line and the hole.

                              ok guys ... ive put in my original spring and cranked the velocity down ... no venting at lunch today i`ll see how it chronos.

                                  Hey other then venting is there a way to visually tell if you've got an old style piston?

                                  Like if you had a level 7 that was originally shipped with a power tube spring instead of a spacer. Is that enough to know what style it is?

                                      Pistons can wear out over time. I replaced mine when I had the same problem, problem solved. The regulator piston assembly runs 15 bucks.

                                          Thats exactly it - i got my regulator piston yesterday and it solved everything. drop the 15 bucks at the AGD store and it will have your gun shooting much 'cleaner' in no time.

                                              when did you order it? i ordered mine on the 27th and it hasn't come yet! i had the same prob but during normal op.
                                              Minimag body, valve: CF05240, gas-thru grip, all-american, lvl 10, tourney velocity adj., flatline 68/3000 nitro FL01255
                                              SOON: intelliframe/medusa

                                              custom spyder, with every part replaced but they valve and body.

                                                  Oh well .. it started venting again, I`ll order a new piston because when i put the level 10 in i pulled out a spring spacer.
