    loctite

Can I use brush-on/blue BLOCK (seals threads and gaskets)instead of Loctite 545? Am I going to have problem disconnect threads later? or can i use pipe joint compound? No one around here carries Loctite 545.

    thanks for your help

order 545 online I believe http://www.grainger.com is a good site. I got mine from their local store but they have everything. Air america reccomend loctite 252 or somewhere around there. It is blue but it is a "thread lock" and you really need a "thread sealant". You can try but you have to heat the fitting with a blow torch (don't use MAPP gas) and then use a crescent wrench or whatever you want. Just order a small bottle of 545 online.

just go to http://www.grainger.com at the top right corner select "item#" and then in the search box above type "5A237"
it should come right up for you.
