    Lvl 10 barrel problem!

I posted this problem in the "classic" official lvl 10 problem thread, but no one seams to read that thread anymore. Therefore I am starting a new thread with the hopes that it will attract more attention and hopefully I will be able to solve my problem in time to play tomorrow.

My problem is, the new lvl 10 bolt gets stuck on my barrel when I fire my mag. It's not every shot but just about. The valve is venting and everything just like it would if there were a partially loaded ball in its way. You see it has to be the barrel because with-out the barrel on the gun shoots perfect.

I am using the 1.0 carrier, longest spring, and 2 shims. My barrel is a dye ultralight if that helps at all.

    Thanx

Try either a mid-spring, 1.5 carrier (if it leaks go back to 1.0), or yes it is the barrel, because dye ultralite should be small bore like .865(I dont remember exactly). Small bore barrel probably causes some friction which will stop the bolt, but if the bolt is stopping on that, then how can it even fire a ball? But I think you need the smaller spring - I had the same thing happen when I was setting up my Level 10. It would just stop on the ball even when it was loaded normally and push the ball forward slightly (I was using long spring).

I also noticed that the small spring exerted way too much force on my pen/finger. So I ended up using the Mid spring which would fire normall at 280fps and didnt hit the ball nearly as hard.

let me kno if this works

Hey man it sound kinda a stupid thing but hey there are some mag owners that dont know there gun. It could also be that the barrel isent fully locked into place.

The level 10 bolt tip measures .686. TK did this to prevent blow-by in most barrels. Using a barrel with a bore smaller than that will cause problems for sure.

That, or, the barrel orings are loose. I know a kid said the gun wouldnt fire while resting the barrel on a bunker. This was because his orings were worn out and he needed new tighter fitting orings. I never mentioned this to the guy but Im sure that could be a problem too. Check this by putting the barrel in and see if you can move the barrel up/down/left/right at all. If it even seems loose, get new orings for your barrel.

The barrel is locked in tight and the orings are brand new. The Dye ultralight is .688 which I believe is considered a medium bore by most standards? Thanx guys, but keep the suggestions coming.

Using the Mid Spring should solve everything immediately, and if it doesnt, try the next larger carrier, the 1.5 one.

DYE can't hold tolerances if their lives depended on it. Measure the thickness (not bore) of the barrel at the back. If it's thicker on one side than the other, then it's drilled off center and not going to work. Either get DYE to replace it, or sell the barrel and get a different one that works.
